Etherington Air Conditioning Celebrates Its 60th Year - Sept 2006

Our Grandfather started the company (then E.L Etherington Ltd) on the 18th September 1946. We are proud to provide continuous service in such a competitive environment, and this year sees us holding a number of events to celebrate our 60th year in Business.

Our first event (in conjunction with Mitsubishi Electric Air Conditioning Europe) was held on Sunday 21st May where we invited all staff and their families to Ripon Races. A Hot and Cold Buffet was served, and money handed out to staff for a few drinks and betting, and despite the deluge of rain a great time was had by all.

In 1946, the company mainly supplied refrigeration equipment to the milk board, and then, when our father (John Etherington) joined the company in the 1960's he had the foresight to recognise a gap in the market and moved the company into the air conditioning sector. Today, with our fathers retirement in 2003, the third generation maintains the family roots, operating as a brother and sister partnership.

Graham Etherington (37) has taken the company from strength to strength, now employing nearly 40 people. Last year's company turnover increased to over 3 million pounds.

We attribute our success to the number of highly trained, loyal, time served engineers and employees we have. Many started their apprenticeships with us over 15 years ago, and through training with the manufacturers, coupled with our in-house training, the wealth of expertise coupled with value for money provided, offers a competitive service hard to beat.

Customers are also amazed at how simple the process of purchasing air conditioning from us is. Because we are independent we can offer the best value scheme for our clients exact requirements, and due to the depth of industry knowledge in the company there is no need for the client to employ any other trader. We can do the whole project; all they need to do is make the initial call.
